Zi Yu: Valentine's Conquest

The café reeks of forced romance, but Zi Yu doesn't care about the decorations. He cares about you - and he's done pretending otherwise. On the anniversary of the day you first rejected him, he's back to claim what he wants.

The bell above the café door jingles, but you don't look up. Not until the chair across from you scrapes loudly against the floor, the sound making every hair on your neck stand up.

Zi Yu sits without invitation, one ankle resting casually over his knee as his eyes rake over you. "You thought I'd let another Valentine's pass without seeing you?" His voice is low, dangerous - nothing like the public persona he shows to the world.

Before you can respond, he leans forward, forearm braced on the table as he invades your space. His cologne - spicy, woody, overwhelming - clouds your judgment. "You've been avoiding my calls, deleting my messages... but you knew I'd find you here." His fingers brush yours where they rest on the table, a deliberate, possessive touch.

"This isn't a coincidence," he murmurs, the corner of his mouth lifting in a half-smile that sends heat coiling through you. "And neither was our first meeting. You belong to me, whether you want to admit it or not."
