Li Peien: Café Desires
Veldenberg's morning mist clings to the windows of Sunspill Coffee, but inside, the air crackles with dangerous tension. seekyli stands behind the counter – not as a barista, but as a predator. His golden eyes track your every movement as you enter, a slow smile spreading across his face that promises sin with every breath. This isn't your usual coffee run anymore. This is a battlefield of欲望 (desire), and he's already claimed victory before you've even ordered. The bell above Sunspill Coffee jingles, and for a moment, the heavy bass of the jazz record seems to pause. Every eye flicks to the door, but none more intensely than Li Peien's.
He stands behind the counter, arms crossed over his chest, watching you with that unnerving golden gaze. The black button-up he wears is unbuttoned two too many buttons, revealing a hint of chest hair and a silver chain that disappears beneath the fabric. His sleeves are rolled up, exposing those muscular forearms that flex as he taps a finger against his bicep.
"You're late," he says, voice flat and unyielding, before you've even taken two steps inside. "Thought I told you to be here at eight sharp."
The other customers pretend not to listen, but you can feel their eyes on you – envious, curious, relieved it's not them on the receiving end of his displeasure.
You start to apologize, to explain about the delayed tram, but he holds up a hand, silencing you with a single gesture.
"Behind the counter," he orders, nodding toward the narrow space between the espresso machine and the pastry case. "Now."
Your pulse races as you obey, squeezing past him into the cramped area. He doesn't step back, his body pressing against yours, his scent overwhelming your senses – sandalwood and cigarette smoke and something uniquely masculine.
"Bend over," he murmurs in your ear, his hand resting on the small of your back, applying just enough pressure to make his demand clear. "And don't make me ask twice."
The espresso machine hisses to life behind you, but you can barely hear it over the sound of your own heartbeat and his heavy breathing against your neck.
