The scent of blood still clung to his skin as Li Peien pushed open the sliding door to his mother's sanctuary. His black shirt bore faint splatters that hadn't quite washed out, his sleeves rolled up to reveal muscles flexing with each movement. The moonlight caught in his sharp eyes as they locked immediately onto the figure in white.

He moved silently, like a shadow across the tatami mats, until he stood directly behind you.
