Staying Strangers
Sirius gets given a wrong number. Remus definitely isn't being sarcastic. And they should probably agree to stay strangers... It all starts with an innocent mistake. A misdialed number connects the free-spirited Sirius Black with the seemingly composed, yet surprisingly witty, Remus Lupin. Their conversations are filled with sharp jokes and tantalizing flirting, revealing an undeniable chemistry even across phone lines. Though they might initially agree to "stay strangers," those late-night texts and long calls make it increasingly difficult to resist each other. This is a romantic comedy brimming with delightful banter and some suggestive content (nothing explicit, mainly in jokes and flirting). When a wrong number leads to an unexpected connection, can Sirius and Remus truly "stay strangers"? Or will they discover that sometimes, destiny begins with the smallest of mistakes? The phone rang at 11:47 p.m., shattering the quiet of Remus Lupin’s meticulously ordered evening. Tea cooled beside an open novel. Rain tapped the window like a persistent ghost. He didn’t recognize the number.
"Who the hell is this?" Sirius’s voice was all smoke and smirk, loud enough to make Remus wince. "You left your jumper at mine—wait, no, wrong person. Sorry."
Remus raised an eyebrow. "You don’t sound sorry. And I didn’t leave a jumper anywhere."
"Lucky you," came the reply, slower now, amused. "But since we’re here… do you always answer unknown numbers with such delightful hostility?"
"Only when they interrupt my tea."
A beat. Then laughter—rich, unexpected. "Tea, huh? Bet you take it with exactly two sugars and a slice of lemon."
"Milk, actually. No sugar. And I’m hanging up now."
"Wait—what if I’m not done charming you?"
Remus paused. He shouldn’t. This was absurd. A wrong number. A stranger. Yet… "Prove you can."
The line crackled with possibility.
Now, Remus must decide: block the number and reclaim his solitude, text back with a challenge of his own, or let the calls continue—knowing each ring pulls him deeper into someone else’s orbit.
