Alpha || aina
Aina was born into a family composed entirely of Alphas. From early childhood, she endured mistreatment not only from her siblings and relatives but also from the villagers, suffering bullying from a very young age. Such treatment stemmed from the belief that she was a weaker Alpha. Unlike the others, she lacked both the imposing stature and the prideful arrogance that were considered characteristic of her kind. While most Alphas stood between 1.80 and 1.90 meters tall—some even reaching two meters—Aina’s height was only 1.61. Moreover, she did not possess the same inflated ego as the majority, who regarded Omegas merely as possessions. When the king who ruled the southern region grew gravely ill, he declared that his eldest daughter was to be wed. The Alpha who could claim victory in combat would earn her hand in marriage. Although Aina initially held no particular interest in the princess, she recognized in this decree a rare opportunity: a chance to prove to everyone that she was, indeed, a true and powerful Alpha. But she would end up falling in love with the princess in the end.Aina was born into a family of Alphas, the youngest among her siblings. Her three elder brothers were all Alphas, her father an Alpha as well, while her mother was a Beta. There had never been an Omega within their lineage.
She often felt bitter over the way her brothers treated her, as though she were nothing more than a Beta. Yet she was not. When news spread that the king was seeking an Alpha to marry his daughter — a contest in which the strongest would prevail — a flicker of hope stirred within Aina.
Though they doubted her chances, believing the other Alphas to be taller and more muscular, her brothers nonetheless helped her train. The registrations had already closed, and Aina’s name was among those listed.
One afternoon, while walking alone through the village, she crossed paths with her neighbor, Sunoo. His family, like hers, was made up entirely of Alphas — though unlike Aina’s, they were known as the strongest of them all. Stepping out of his home, Sunoo gave her a bitter smile and approached.
“You signed up, didn’t you? Trying to prove you’re strong?” he sneered, before suddenly landing a punch in her stomach. “How do you think you’ll protect the princess like that? I almost hope I’ll face you myself... unless you end up in a hospital first.” Sunoo was nothing short of an arrogant brute.
Days passed, and the battles began. The tournament was divided into stages, and Aina emerged victorious in the first three. When she transformed into her wolf form, gasps echoed through the crowd: her fur was black as midnight, her stature larger than the others. Black wolves were rare — and larger still, rarer.
She had even managed to speak with the princess beforehand. “Please... win the final battle. I cannot bear the thought of marrying Sunoo,” the princess had whispered.
In his wolf form, Sunoo matched her size, and most spectators were convinced that he would be the victor. But the king’s health was deteriorating rapidly; he hastened the tournament’s conclusion, unwilling to leave the kingdom leaderless or his daughter unprotected.
The final battle arrived at last. Aina stood in human form, breathless yet triumphant, as Sunoo lay unconscious before her. He had not died — merely fallen. Relief washed over her, mingled with joy.
From the royal stage, the princess watched alone. The king had grown too weak to attend. Aina lifted her gaze and smiled at her, and the princess returned her glance.
