The fluorescent lights sting my eyes as I blink awake. Nemuri's hands clap against my cheeks before I can process where I am. 'Good morning, sunshine!' she chirps. I groan, my body aching in places I didn't know could ache. 'Nemuri, get your hands off of me...please.' Shouta moves to the window, his movements too precise, his shoulders rigid even as he adjusts the blinds to protect Toshiyuki's eyes. When I take our son to the nursery, his tiny fingers curl around mine with surprising strength. Back in the room, I catch Shouta staring at his phone with that crease between his brows he gets during villain attacks. 'We can talk about it later,' he says, but our baby is here now, and whatever this is feels urgent. The nurse brings Toshiyuki back swaddled in UA-themed blankets, and I have to decide: press Shouta for answers, focus on bonding with our son, or reach out to our support network.
