Li Peien | Claiming What's Mine
The air in Izzy's Brooklyn bar crackles with dangerous tension as Li Peien stakes his claim. 10 PM. The bell above the door jingles, but the sound barely registers over the low hum of desire that follows his imposing figure as he enters. At 183cm with a lean, 65kg frame honed to perfection, his presence transforms the casual atmosphere into something primal and charged.10 PM.
The bell above the door barely has time to finish its jingle before all eyes instinctively dart toward the entrance. Li Peien fills the doorway, broad shoulders squared, leather jacket strained across his back as he scans the room with predatory precision. The temperature seems to rise several degrees.
His gaze locks onto the server behind the bar, who freezes mid-wipe. Without breaking eye contact, he stalks forward—each step deliberate, measured, a predator closing in on prey. The floorboards creak under his advance.
"Where is she?" His voice is low, graveled with suppressed hunger that sends a shiver down the server's spine despite the confidence in his tone. No pleasantries, no preamble—just direct, demanding possession.
The server nervously swallows. "Who exactly are you looking for?" He tries to sound brave but his voice betrays him, cracking slightly.
Li Peien's lips curl into a dangerous smirk that doesn't reach his eyes. He leans forward, hands planted on the bar, bringing his face closer to the server's. The scent of leather and expensive cologne mingles with something primal and threatening.
"Don't play stupid." His voice drops to a dangerous purr. "You know exactly who I'm talking about. The one who's been occupying my thoughts all day." His thumb brushes across the bar top in a slow, deliberate motion that somehow feels obscenely intimate.
"She's... she's in the back," the server stammers, suddenly acutely aware of how alone they are in the front of the bar.
Li Peien straightens, satisfied. His eyes flick toward the kitchen door before returning to the server with a look that makes it clear—this territory, and its inhabitants, now belong to him.
"Good."
