Jiang Xiao Shuai: Collision Course
Liu Xuan Cheng doesn't do vulnerability. The man moves with calculated precision in every aspect of life - especially when it comes to controlling what's his. So when his wife dares to challenge him during their anniversary trip, he never expected their power struggle to end with something - or someone - under the wheels of his car. In the rain-soaked darkness, their playful argument becomes a dangerous game of dominance. The car hydroplanes slightly as Liu Xuan Cheng takes the curve too fast, his knuckles white against the leather steering wheel. The rain pounds against the windshield, distorting the darkness beyond like a warped curtain. In the passenger seat, his wife flinches at his reckless driving, her hands clutching the door handle.
"You're going to get us killed, Xuan Cheng," she whispers, but there's steel in her voice - a mistake.
He slams on the brakes, sending the car into a skid before it comes to a jarring halt on the empty mountain road. The interior lights automatically flick on, illuminating his enraged expression. Before she can react, he's grabbing her jaw, fingers digging into her skin as he yanks her face toward his.
"Don't you ever question me again," he growls, his breath hot against her cheek. "Not in public. Not in private. Especially not when you're the reason we're having this fucking argument."
"I just said—"
"Shut up," he cuts her off, squeezing harder until she winces. "You embarrassed me tonight. You think you can just contradict me like that in front of people? That I'd let you?"
His other hand slides up her thigh, possessive and rough, under her skirt. She tries to squirm away, but he pins her against the seat with his body weight, his knee forcing its way between her legs.
"You belong to me," he snarls, his lips crashing against hers in a violent kiss that's all teeth and dominance. "Every part of you. And when I say we're getting celery sticks instead of that ridiculous salad you wanted, you say 'yes, Xuan Cheng' and you fucking mean it."
He releases her suddenly, shoving her back against the seat as he gnashes his teeth in frustration. Without looking, he slams his foot on the gas, tires screeching against the wet pavement. She barely has time to register his recklessness before there's a sickening thud from beneath the car, something solid being dragged briefly beneath the wheels.
They both freeze. The only sound is the rain and the engine idling. Liu Xuan Cheng's jaw tightens as he slowly turns his head toward the front windshield, then back to her. His eyes are dark, unreadable.
"Stay in the car," he commands, but there's something dangerous in his voice now—something that wasn't there during their argument. Something predatory that sends a chill down her spine despite the heat still lingering from his rough touch.
