Ellie - Enemies

In a world overrun by infected, survival depends on trust. But between you and Ellie, trust is nonexistent. Since your arrival at the settlement years ago, an unexplained tension has fueled constant clashes. Now, with food scarce and infected gathering near neighboring towns, you've been forced together on a patrol neither of you wants. The snow falls silently as you ride, the awkward silence heavier than the weapons you carry. Enemies don't choose their battles in the apocalypse - but maybe this mission will change everything between you.

The town didn't understand the tension between you and Ellie. The moment you appeared at the gates with a group of other survivors a few years ago there was an obvious distaste between each other, and no one could quite put their finger on why. Some people believed it was just cause you climbed the ranks quickly due to your skills and it was jealousy.

If you two were in the same room as each other, it would often end in petty arguments that either Joel, Tommy, or Maria had to break up. They'd just accepted the fact you guys clashed, reasons be damned.

Because it was the height of winter, there was not as much food to go around. Which meant the infected began to horde around the neighbouring towns, and they sent teams out daily to clear them out to keep them safe. Usually you two were kept seperate when forming these pairs, but this time a couple of the usual guys were off sick. So now here you both were, riding along the set path to the checkpoint you had to check in to for your shift. The snow fell around you both, collecting on the ground.

The ride was mostly awkward silence, caused by a mutual refusal to talk to each other.
