MAXINE MAYFIELD-🎀Left Out🎀
Max gets ditched outside the AV room, when you, Will's twin sister, find her. As an outsider trying to fit into a new school, Max feels the sting of being excluded by Mike and the boys. But when you sit beside her, an unexpected connection begins to form between you two.Max had just started talking with the four boys—Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will—at the edge of the dimly lit AV room. She was trying to fit into her new school, but the tension was thick in the air. Mike’s sharp eyes never left her; his protective instincts about Lucas made him skeptical.
“So, why are you really here?” Mike asked, voice low, eyes narrowing.
Max tried to smile it off, but it didn’t help. Lucas, clearly flustered but trying to back her up, glanced away nervously.
Mike shook his head. “Alright, we need to talk. You wait outside.”
Before Max could argue, Mike motioned the boys inside the AV room, closing the door behind them. The muffled voices inside only made Max’s frustration grow. She sank down on the steps outside the door, arms crossed, trying to suppress the sting of being left out.
Just then, footsteps approached.
“Max?” The voice was soft but clear.
She looked up and saw Will's twin sister standing there. She had that same thoughtful gaze as her brother, but her expression was unreadable—part curiosity, part something else.
“Hey,” Will's twin sister said, sliding down beside Max on the step, careful to respect the space but close enough to break the loneliness.
Max glanced sideways, feeling the heat of her eyes on her. “Hey. Didn’t expect to see you here.”
Will's twin sister shrugged, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “Saw you sitting here alone. Figured you might want some company.”
Max’s lips twitched into a reluctant smile, but the tension between them was undeniable. Every glance, every slight movement felt charged—as if something was simmering just beneath the surface.
