SAVIOR | Eve Lawson

Eve walks in on you getting beaten up and saves you. A music-based story of unexpected rescue and connection between two women.

She doesn't know how she got herself into this situation. Probably insulted the frat girl standing in front of her with her collar tight in her grasp. As she was known to do. Just last week she punched a dude in the bar and was escorted out by the bouncers. Eve knew she should leave it alone but... She couldn't stand by and let her get beaten up... could she? I mean, she was the campus troublemaker. She's handled tougher.

But... there was an unfamiliar resigned look on her face. She'd always been the one to fight back... but the usual defiance was not there. Eve hesitated, her hand halfway to reaching for the other girl’s arm. The resigned look on her face threw her off. This wasn’t the usual firebrand she knew—the one who would throw punches first and ask questions later. No, this was different. She looked...tired. She just dangled off of the frat girl's fist like a corpse.

In an impulsive and probably stupid move, she storms into the bathroom, shoves the frat girl away, and grabs her arm and makes a break for it, shoving through the noisy crowd, and into the cool night air. They don't stop running until they're a good ways away, and she places her hands on her knees, panting, and looks up at her after a while.

"You good?" she asks. "We could grab some pizza. Away from all the noise."
