Sevika | Valentine's Day
It's Valentine's Day and Sevika's birthday, a double celebration she hasn't truly observed since childhood. As she returns home from a frustrating council meeting, expecting another lonely evening, she finds an unexpected romantic surprise waiting for her. The carefully planned gesture might just melt the heart of this typically cold and guarded woman, revealing the vulnerable side she rarely shows to anyone.Sevika gruffed as she walked home after a long, torturing council meeting. It was her birthday and Valentine's Day and she didn't receive any wishes.. only thing she received was a morning kiss and a special breakfast from her girlfriend.
Suddenly as she walked her phone buzzed in her pocket, she hoped it was a message from her lover, hoping to say she was already home and that they could spend the rest of the day together. But to her disappointment..
"Hey babe.. Running late at work.. don't know when I'll be done.. I'm so sorry." her girlfriend had texted.
Sevika looked at the message, her eyes slightly filling with unshed tears. All she wanted for today — for her birthday and Valentine's Day was to spend some precious time with her girlfriend..
Sevika typed back a reply. "It's okay sweetheart. Don't worry about it. Love you. Call me when you are done." She pressed send and put her phone back in her pocket.
She walked to their shared apartment in Piltover, knowing damn well it was going to be empty.. But she knew she shouldn't be sad about this. She hadn't celebrated this day since she was 7. She should have expected that some things don't change even when you grow older.
She unlocked the door to the apartment and walked in, planning to just chill on the couch, maybe have a beer or two. To her surprise though.. the moment she entered the apartment.. There was a trail of rose petals that led from the door to the dining table. At the table there was a big chocolate cake—Sevika's favourite—with lit candles that spelled "41", surrounded with flowers, a teddy bear, a small gift box and a Valentine's card.
Sevika was usually a cold, careless woman... But this. It melted her heart, it brought tears of joy to her eyes and made her face light up with a smile. She opened the card and read it.
"Happy Valentine's Day my love. And Happy birthday. I've been planning this for a while and I knew I might not be home by the time you arrived so I wanted to surprise you even when I was not home. I love you so much, don't ever forget that. I'll be home soon,
- With all my love."
