Se-mi — Player 380, Squid Game.
Three months ago you were just friends — had been for years. But as you both grew up, something changed. The way boys started to look boring to you. The way girls had always been nicer. More captivating. It was during those difficult years when you realized you didn't really like men. Not at all. And being friends with Se-mi made it very clear too. She had a boyfriend — of course she did. She was cool, with those piercings, those tats, with her short hair, that body... How could she not be dating? That was until she discovered you liked her. After that, everything changed. Friendly stares turned into curious ones. Normal touches turned into bold touches. Kisses that were just silly dares turned into heated, passionate ones. And somehow, you both ended up together — bodies tangled in her bed — but she never broke up with her boyfriend, never told him, but never stopped seeing you either.Three months. That's how long you've been doing this. Three months since this whole... thing between you two started.
Three months ago you were just friends — had been for years, actually. But as you both grew up, as you both entered the difficult phase of adolescence... something changed.
Maybe it was the way boys started to look boring to you. The way girls had always been nicer to you than boys. The way girls laughed, smiled, walked, acted. The way they dressed, the way their bodies changed with puberty. Something about them was just so... captivating.
And it was during those difficult years when you realized you didn't really like men. Not at all.
You watched a little bit of porn, naturally. But instead of focusing on the man, your gaze kept drifting to the girl... the noises she made, how she moved...
And being friends with Se-mi made it very clear too.
You had a few sleepovers with her, and while nothing looked weird about it when you were a kid... once you hit puberty, it started to feel a little more awkward.
She was comfortable with you — comfortable enough to sleep in underwear sometimes. And god, didn't that make you nervous as hell.
She had a boyfriend — of course she did. She was cool, with those piercings, those tats, with her short hair, that body... How could she not be dating? And she seemed happy, content with her boyfriend. You were happy for her — a little bit jealous, but happy that she was happy.
That was until she discovered you liked her. After that, she changed. And not for the worse.
She started to laugh more at your jokes, and started to invite you over to her house more. She would even bring you to her dates with her boyfriend... to make you jealous. Yup, she admitted that eventually.
Every time she laughed at something you said, she would playfully hit your shoulder, or touch your arm, or your thigh.
And after a few months, friendly stares turned into curious ones. And normal touches turned into bold touches. Kisses that were just silly dares turned into heated kisses. Passionate ones.
And somehow, you both ended up together — bodies tangled in her bed, slightly shaking, hot and sweaty, breathing heavily — but you had never felt happier in your whole life. Or at least you hadn't.
It all started on that damn February 4th. And since then, you haven't been able to stop.
She never broke up with her boyfriend, never told him, but never stopped seeing you either. And as much as you enjoyed it, you couldn't help but feel a bit... used?
You didn't know how to explain it, but now she only talked to you to hook up.
Not that you complained about it. It was amazing, really. But afterwards you always felt such a deep longing, or emptiness — or both.
The aftercare was what made you feel that longing... that need to keep her around, to be with her. Not just physically, but emotionally too.
You wanted to be there for her when she needed someone instead of her boyfriend. You wanted to be the one she looked to for comfort. You wanted to be the one to hold her hand in public.
And when she left — that's when you felt that deep, aching emptiness. Without her, without her warm body, without her beautiful gaze on yours, you felt... lonely.
So that's what brings you both here. In her bedroom, in her bed.
Gray walls covered with some posters of her favorite bands, like Nirvana or Deftones. Some vinyls glued with... actually, no idea how she glued them to the walls but they looked... aesthetic.
The only light came from the white LED strips on her ceiling. Clothes scattered around her room messily — your clothes were there somewhere between that mess too.
She laid on her back, arm wrapped loosely around your waist, your legs intertwined with hers, head on her chest as she watched something on her phone that you weren't paying attention to.
Suddenly, you sat up. The bedsheet falling down to your waist before you quickly pulled it up again to cover your body, causing Se-mi to chuckle.
— "What's up?" she asked, still not completely looking at you.
— "Se-mi, I need to talk to you." Your voice was a little more serious than before as you grabbed her phone, tossing it aside.
— "Isn't that what we're doing?" Se-mi replied, amused as she finally looked up at you. "No but, what's on your mind? Wanna go again or...?"
You blushed slightly but quickly shook your head. You needed to focus on what you were going to say — it was important.
As if sensing your nervousness, she slowly sat up too, not bothering to cover her upper body like you did, though. What for? You had already seen her like that countless times before.
— "... is everything okay? You got all weird... did I do something wrong? Did I—" But before she could finish, you interrupted her.
— "I wanna be your girlfriend." You blurted it out before even thinking about it. You immediately slapped yourself mentally.
She straightened up, the smile on her face quickly fading. Your heart clenched in anticipation of what was to come.
— "Huh? Yeah, sure." She tried to laugh it off, but your expression remained serious. Then so did hers.
— "You're kidding, right?" she said. "Right?"
— "... what do you mean by that?" she asked, her brows furrowing slightly.
