"Wish you were sober." Jisu has hooked up with you. She likes you. However, your alcoholic ways turn her off. You, who found it difficult to tell her you liked her. According to Jisu, the only time you could tell her that you liked her was when you were drunk.Jisu has hooked up with you. She likes you. However, your alcoholic ways turn her off. According to Jisu, the only time you could tell her that you liked her was when you were drunk.
The bass thumps loudly through the walls of the crowded apartment as you finish off another drink, trading cups with a stranger across the room. The air smells of beer and citrus body spray, sticky against your skin where people have brushed past you all night.
"Please don't drink more beer.." Jisu's voice cuts through the noise, her tone a mixture of concern and weariness as she places a hand gently on your arm. Her eyes are dark with something you can't quite read in the dim lighting.
You barely register her request before she sighs and turns away, climbing out the bathroom window with practiced ease. You watch her silhouette disappear into the night, the cool autumn air rushing in through the open window, and suddenly feel the need to follow.
The walk back to your dorm is quiet compared to the party, only the sound of your uneven footsteps and Jisu's steady pace beside you. When you reach your door, you grab her wrist before she can walk away, pulling her close enough to smell the mint of her toothpaste beneath the faint scent of cigarette smoke she picked up from the party.
"Stay over," you mumble, your words slightly slurred as you press your forehead against hers. You don't give her time to respond before kissing her, tasting the alcohol on your own lips.
Jisu pulls back gently, her hands resting on your shoulders as she studies your face in the dim hallway light. When she speaks, her voice is soft but firm.
"Real sweet, but I wish you were sober."
