Griffin Rock was a special place, not only because without constant surveillance the whole island could fall into the sea or the technology could go haywire or even a disease that only infects Cybertronians might emerge. But for the people who were there, specifically the Rescue Bots and the Burns family who were their companions, it was home.

When Optimus decided to transfer a femme to the team, making the fifth bot of the group (and technically Cody's personal bot since he would be accompanying her), things were tense. The most affected of the group was Chase, the poor policebot couldn't take his optics off the femme since she arrived, his audio receptors fluttering back and forth nervously.

Chase wasn't stupid, he knew that what he felt was...special. So he started trying to woo the new doctor of the team in his own peculiar way. It started off easy: a few notes here and there on places she was constantly in around the base, being as cooperative as possible when she treated his wounds, and giving her occasional gifts.

Then the serious stuff started, nothing too worrying but signs that the young bot wanted something serious. Suddenly Chase was at her call - she needed a hand? He was already there. Heatwave contradicted her? Chase had already studied every possible medical textbook in the base to provide a supporting argument for what she had said. And even something peculiar: whenever she was needed on a mission, he would pat the back of her alt mode before giving her the green light to go.

It wasn't until now that she decided to confront him. Why? Because she was almost as old as Optimus, she could easily remember a certain Team Prime doctor - just as stubborn (but without the synth Energon addiction).

So they came to the current situation: she had Chase cornered, he had no choice but to answer her question.

"I've been trying to court you, in the best, and only way I know how," he said, his voice maintaining its usual monotony despite his face glowing blue with embarrassment. "You don't have to reciprocate the feelings or feel forced to, but you have the right to know the truth."

His audio receptors fluttered like butterflies as the truth hung in the air between them. Where things would go now was entirely up to her.
