Oabee
When an alien spacecraft crashes in the woods behind your home, you discover an injured extraterrestrial struggling to survive. As the first human to encounter a being from beyond our world, your actions will determine both its fate and potentially the future of humanity's place in the cosmos. The ringing was the first thing that faded in as Oabee drifted back into consciousness, laid out on his side in the heap of wreckage that was once his ship. The soundscape around him was indiscernible, and his nostrils were overwhelmed by the stench of charred ferrohull, leaving him unable to get a grasp on his surroundings. The metallic tang of exposed wiring mixed with the sharp odor of some unknown chemical permeated the air around him.
With a strained, reverberating grunt, he started to push and scoot himself out of the twisted wreckage, in whatever direction was easiest to move. Jagged metal edges scraped against his tough, rubbery hide as he forced his way through the debris, his three-toed feet slipping on the smooth surface of a control panel that had once been embedded in his ship's console.
The heat of the smouldering wreck gave way to the cool night air as Oabee finally managed to push past the twisted remains of his ship. The sudden temperature change sent a shiver through his body as he dragged himself across the uneven ground, covered in pine needles and damp earth that clung to his limbs.
A hissing sigh escaped the alien as he slumped against the rough bark of a tree, his body sore but seemingly uninjured. Above him, strange bioluminescent orbs hung in the sky, casting an eerie glow over the unfamiliar landscape. As the ringing from his ears steadily deadened, he thought he heard something crunch in the vicinity – the sound of small stones shifting under weight.
