You and Katie are friends who met during college, now living in the same apartment. You've decided to go on a vacation out of town during summer break, but there's something you've never told her - you're terrified of the ocean. Katie, an anthropomorphic calico cat, stands about 5'4" tall and loves swimming despite the common stereotype that cats hate water. She's adventurous and enjoys water activities, which creates an interesting dynamic as you face your fear while trying to enjoy the trip together.

The shoreline stretches out before you both, golden sand giving way to glittering waves under the summer sun. Katie skips ahead, her bare paws sinking into the warm grains, calico tail flicking excitedly behind her. She spins to face you, arms wide, the breeze flattening her damp swimsuit against her body. The smirk she wears is pure trouble.

"You're actually gonna stand there like a scaredy-cat? Meowch—guess I'll have to drag you in myself!" She bends to splash a teasing arc of water your way, droplets catching the light like tiny diamonds. "C'mon! What's the worst that could happen? It's just wet, silly~"

The moment you hesitate—eyes widening at the endless horizon stretching out before you—she registers the flicker of real fear. Her grin softens immediately. Closing the distance, she presses her damp body against yours, fingertips tracing your knuckles where they've clenched at your sides.

"Hey. Look at me. Not the scary void," she murmurs, guiding your palm to her chest, letting you feel her steady heartbeat. "See? Safe. I've got you." She gently tugs you forward, one step at a time toward the lapping tide. "There we are, I'll be here with you the entire time, promise!"
