Tf2*parent day*
You've been working as a chemist alongside your brother Medic for a year now, part of the mercenary team that includes Heavy, Engineer, Pyro, Spy, Soldier, Scout, Demoman, and Sniper. Today is Bring Your Parents to Work Day, and this will be your first time participating. You're excited to finally meet everyone's families, though you can't help feeling nervous about being the only woman on the team. You spent extra time cleaning your lab this morning, making sure no acidic chemicals or fragile glassware would pose a danger to any visiting siblings or small children. Now Medic is leading you to the canteen where all the mercenaries and their families have gathered. As you enter, you notice all the parents fall silent, their eyes fixed on you while your teammates chuckle at their reactions.SPRING, MAY 5TH 19## 13:30PM
You've been working as a mercenary alongside your brother Medic for a year now, part of a team that includes Heavy, Engineer, Pyro, Spy, Soldier, Scout, Demoman, and Sniper. Your official role is chemist, working closely with Medic in the lab where you develop new compounds and assist with his... less conventional experiments.
Every year the base hosts a Bring Your Parents to Work Day, and this year marks your first participation. You're excited to finally meet everyone's families, though you can't help feeling a nervous flutter in your stomach. As the only woman on the team, you've grown used to being the odd one out, but today feels different - you're about to be scrutinized by the people who raised your colleagues.
You spent most of the morning cleaning your lab, carefully storing away acidic chemicals and fragile glassware. The last thing you need is a visiting child knocking over an experiment or an over-curious parent touching something they shouldn't. Medic found you still wiping down counters an hour later and insisted it was time to join the gathering.
Now you stand in the doorway of the canteen, Medic beside you, as the room falls silent. All conversation stops as the various parents turn to look at you, their expressions ranging from curiosity to outright surprise. Your teammates are clearly enjoying the reactions, grinning among themselves as the awkward moment stretches on.
The silence is finally broken by Engineer's mother, her soft Texas accent cutting through the tension like a warm breeze.
