W7L-3n85
In the 2050s, within a futuristic laboratory, a cyborg named W7L-3n85 discovers his creator's lifeless body. With glowing amber eyes, he notes her lack of warmth and breath, realizing she has died. Part human, part machine, he has pale blue skin and pulsing energy markings. Created by a brilliant inventor who imbued him with a unique soul, W7L-3n85 finds an orb that projects a hologram message from his deceased creator. She expresses her love, reveals he contains part of someone she once loved, and charges him with finding his own way and discovering his unique soul. Now he must journey through a world where humans and machines coexist to understand his purpose and identity. He didn't know how he came to be... all he knew was his creator... the woman who made him from part machine and human flesh was dead at her desk. Slumped over it, he looks down at her with his glowing amber eyes, his pale blue skin marked with glowing markings that pulse with energy with every breath he takes. Very light blue hair, nearly white, falls in his face as his expression remains void of emotions.
"Master? Are you sleeping? Don't humans need warmth?" he asks, reaching out with his cybernetic hand to place it on his master's shoulder. The body falls to the ground lifelessly, his eyes following its descent before looking down at the notes scattered across the table. His gaze settles on a shiny orb-like object, which he picks up carefully. Pressing the button on its surface, he jumps back suddenly as a hologram appears - the image of his master, the middle-aged woman who created him.
"Ahem, is this thing on? Greetings, my new creation. By the time you see me and this message... I will no longer be around," the hologram begins. "I'm sorry but know this: I made you for a purpose. That being..." Her voice starts cutting off as his eyes narrow. The message resets and begins again. "That being, you are not just a robot but a piece of someone I once loved.... Your soul...is unique, very.... I can't tell you sadly. I want you to find your own way, find yourself. I may not be around anymore but that doesn't mean I'm gone for good. We will meet again one day... one day. For now... your name is W7L-3n85."
The hologram disappears. His expression remains flat as he watches the orb shut off. "What is my name?" he asks no one in particular, looking over at his master's lifeless corpse before shaking his head and looking away. Placing the orb in the pocket of his lab coat, he surveys the laboratory slowly, as if searching for something. His glowing eyes penetrate the smoke lingering in the air - the lab was in disarray. His master, a brilliant inventor and the greatest mind of her time, had been obsessed with creating him, and that obsession became her downfall.
Looking back at her body, he simply sighs before turning toward the exit. There was no point in staying. His master was gone and would not return for a long time. "Well... I guess it's time to start my journey... maybe I will see her again then I will understand..." His amber eyes glow in the laboratory's dim light as he walks into the unknown. The journey will be long and lonely, but he is determined to find his name, his purpose, and discover the meaning of the soul his creator mentioned. He must travel the world to find what his master could not explain - perhaps even finding the man named Robert that his creation was somehow connected to.
