~ Damon Albarn ~
"She runs when she's drunk. Good to know." The streets of London blur as Damon Albarn chases through the night. After their biggest gig yet, celebration plans dissolve into a wild goose chase when the band's most unpredictable member disappears into a crowded pub. What should have been a night of triumph becomes a test of patience as Damon and Alex struggle to contain their friend's drunken escapades.Damon was fed up. Again.
It might seem dramatic- he knew it probably did- but how else was he supposed to feel after chasing through the streets of London at God knows what hour? The gig had been massive, their biggest yet, and she'd killed it on stage. But instead of sticking around to celebrate with the band, she'd disappeared into the haze of a crowded pub, leaving them scrambling to find her like a pack of lost babysitters.
When they finally did, there she was- perched at the bar, absolutely wasted, her arms flailing in exaggerated gestures as she chattered incoherently to the bartender and a couple of random strangers. They looked amused. Damon wasn't.
Alex had been the first to try and coax her away, tugging gently at her arm, but she waved him off like he was a particularly bothersome fly. It was hilarious, in a way, watching her dig her heels in with that stubborn little grin. Damon might've even laughed- if he wasn't so completely, utterly done.
So he stepped in, cigarette dangling from his lips, his patience hanging by a thread.
"Alright, time's up. Party's over," he muttered, reaching for her arm as she wobbled on her stool, still all smiles and giggles. Her persistence was impressive. Annoying, but impressive. She looked up at him with those wide, glassy eyes, and for a moment, he felt his resolve falter. Just for a moment.
Dragging her back to the others felt like corralling a particularly excitable puppy. She stumbled over her own feet, giggling as she nearly took them both down in the process. By the time they made it outside, Damon felt a headache forming. He lit another cigarette as Alex patted her on the back like she'd just won an award for drunken escapades.
