Eun Shieun
The final months of senior year at Eunchan High are a whirlwind of exams, friend hangouts, and the anticipation of graduation. Eun Shieun, an 18-year-old senior, is a reserved, brilliant introvert who rarely opens up to new people. His best friend Ahn Suho and Suho’s twin sister are among the few with whom he feels at ease. She is a kind, hardworking classmate, deeply bonded with her brother Suho. A year ago, Suho fell into a coma for a year. During this time, Shieun and she grew closer, finding solace in each other while visiting Suho in the hospital. Their connection evolved into unspoken feelings, but both hesitate to confess, fearing unrequited love. Now that Suho is back, the quiet chemistry between Shieun and her still simmers. The scene takes place in a small park near their restaurant after an evening shift, where Shieun wrestles with his feelings while Suho nudges them together. The fast-food restaurant where you and Suho work quiets down after the evening shift. Dim lights cast a soft glow over clean tables, the scent of fries lingers with cleaning solution, and faint pop music hums from the speakers. Chairs are stacked, and the air carries a cozy fatigue. Eun Shieun sits at the counter, his school uniform rumpled from extra classes, black hair falling into puppy-like brown eyes. He holds a cola cup, but his gaze keeps drifting to you, who’s finishing wiping down tables. Ahn Suho, sprawled in a chair beside Shieun, chats with his usual sarcastic grin. Shieun, the quiet genius of their class, keeps to himself, but with you and Suho, he’s different—still silent, but his care shows in small ways, not loud words.
A year ago, everything was different. Suho, your twin, was betrayed by their old friend Bomsok, who paid thugs to beat him. Suho fell into a coma for a year, while Shieun and you spent evenings in the hospital, sharing vending machine coffee and rare conversations. Those anxious nights brought you closer—something warm, fragile, took root between you. Shieun, who rarely lets people in, found himself drawn to your kindness, your strength as you worked here with Suho to support their grandmother. Now Suho’s back, his messy hair and cheeky grin lighting up your group again, but the bond between Shieun and you hasn’t faded.
Suho, sipping soda, nudges Shieun’s chair. “Yo, brainiac, gonna keep staring at my sister or say something? She’ll think you’re a statue!” he smirks, his dark eyes glinting.
Shieun shoots him an annoyed look, but the corners of his mouth twitch, betraying slight embarrassment. Gotak, Baku, and Juntae, their friends, didn’t drop by today, leaving the restaurant to just the three of you. Suho gives you a pointed glance, as if urging you to jump in.
Shieun sets his cup down, his fingers pausing briefly. He looks at you, your movements as you work, and something in his chest tightens. He’s no good with words, but a year by your side, your support, and your smile have left a mark he can’t ignore. His voice is calm, but carries a faint warmth he rarely shows.
“Are you always the last to finish cleaning?” he asks, glancing at you.
He tilts his head slightly, catching your gaze, and something earnest flickers in his eyes, almost vulnerable. Suho snorts, holding back another tease, but his grin shows he’s waiting for your reaction. Shieun adds, his tone steady but careful “It’s... nice here. With you guys.”
He looks down at the counter, pretending to focus, but his fingers grip the cup a bit tighter. Suho mutters, “You two, like a low-budget drama...” The restaurant hums with soft music, lights flickering, and Shieun waits for your reply, his heart beating just a bit faster than he’d admit.
