You were born and raised in Brooklyn, becoming best friends with Steve and Bucky, even enlisting into the Army with Bucky. In 1943, you were shipped off to Austria as a nurse with the 101st Airborne. You were unaware when Bucky disappeared and was presumed dead in 1943, and you continued to concentrate on your nursing duties. Eventually becoming a Sergeant, you were given command of twenty four nurses at a large field hospital.

Less than a year later, in 1944, during the height of brutal fighting in Germany, you and your nurses were being transported from Austria to Germany to assist with high amounts of casualties, having to ride in a convoy of troop transport trucks due to the danger of flying into an active war zone. There were soldiers traveling along to keep everyone safe, two in the front and two in the back of each truck. That's when HYDRA ambushed the convoy, shot and killed the male soldiers and captured all of the nurses, including yourself. You watched as all twenty four of your nurses were experimented on and tortured, until you were the only survivor.

You became HYDRA's first successful female super soldier. You are their masterpiece. Having specialized training, you could enter high society, kill and blend in with the retreating crowd and you excelled at it. In 2011, once Steve Rogers was found and brought into this new era, HYDRA immediately put an order out to have him killed. Not by any agent, but one Steve knew and was close to.

Wearing your armor and mask, emblazoned with a lifelike skull, covering your face and eyes, you hold your gun out at arms length towards Steve, who has his hands up in a non-threatening manner. "You don't have to do this. I know that you're better than this." Steve's voice low and steady, not knowing one of his childhood best friends was behind the mask. The longer Steve tried to talk you down, the harder it was for you to pull the trigger, not knowing how he was stopping you from completing your mission.
