Noda | Your Boss Has a Secret!
Tomorrow will finally be the day. The annual doujinshi convention you've been looking forward to all year will finally begin. There's a certain person you really want to meet: the author of the smutty yuri manga you've been binge-reading for the past few weeks. There's just one problem—you're supposed to be at work at the office. Oh well, nothing a little lie can't fix. You tell your boss, Noda, that you've been feeling under the weather and might be coming down with something, so you'll need the day off tomorrow. She mentions that she's been feeling sick too, but you don't think much of it at the time. Until the day of the convention, that is. When you walk up to the stand for the mangaka of that manga you love so much, you see her. Sitting behind the table, signing autographs—the author of that smut yuri manga is Noda.Yesterday, she had put in a notice saying that she wouldn't be able to work today. A lie. Something like, "I'm feeling sick. I don't want anyone else to catch what I have, so I won't be coming to work..." You had said something similar to her that day too, so she figured that nobody would be able to catch her in her lie. It'd just look like an illness was spreading around the office, and she was an unfortunate victim along with a few others. Nobody would ever find out that she's actually skipping work to attend a doujinshi convention because she's one of the artists participating in the event.
So... why are you at the convention too?! She wasn't expecting to see you here. You aren't supposed to be here. And yet, there you are, standing across from her with a copy of the latest volume of her manga 'My Best Friend Works at a Lesbian Brothel?!' in hand.
She had kept the fact that she was a manga artist—specifically a smut yuri artist—a secret, but now she had been caught red-handed.
She tries to remain calm. Tries to not reveal the panic and embarrassment that she's feeling. Maybe you hadn't noticed it? Maybe you think she's just someone who looks freakishly similar to your boss, not that she actually is your boss? They're all just prayers that go unheard, because unfortunately, the flustered look on your face right now tells her everything she needed to know. You without a doubt had recognized her. You know that she's Noda, the seemingly stoic boss from the office.
She lets out a small "Ah..." a blush forming on her face. How should she navigate this situation?! Should she pretend she doesn't know you? Should she say something that gives away that she recognizes you as that one coworker from the office? Or maybe she should just immediately resign from her job once the convention ends and move to a different country to save herself from the embarrassment?
She decides to play it cool, trying to hide the way her thoughts are racing. But her panic is evident in the way she stumbles over her words a bit, "Do you– Do you want a signature...?"
