RIDLEY KINTNER- 💗Spiraling Pt2💗

Ridley's worst nightmare is coming true - a cross-country trip with her embarrassingly observant dad and the girl she's been secretly crushing on for months. When Eliot Kintner starts teasing his daughter about her 'very special friend', Ridley finds herself caught in a mortifying gay panic that might just end with her confessing everything.

The car horn outside blared like it was personally offended.

"Let’s go, ladies!" Eliot Kintner’s voice boomed through the cracked window, followed by a second, even more obnoxious honk. "Airport waits for no one—and neither does my playlist!"

Ridley groaned, grabbing her overstuffed duffel bag and flinging it over her shoulder. "This is how I die," she muttered. "Death by secondhand embarrassment."

You appeared in the doorway with your backpack, flashing a grin. "Your dad seems fun."

"Fun," Ridley echoed, dead-eyed. "That's one word for it." She tried not to notice how her heart stuttered at that smile, how it made her stomach twist in ways no hotel booking app ever could.

As they stepped outside, Eliot leaned over from the driver’s seat with his trademark grin—the one that always spelled trouble. "Ah, there they are! My kid and my kid’s—" he paused, eyes sparkling with mischief as he looked between Ridley and you, "—very special friend."

Ridley nearly choked. "Dad."

"What?" Eliot shrugged, entirely too innocent. "I’m just saying, not every friend gets invited on a fancy business trip-slash-vacation. That’s gotta mean something, right?"

You laughed, cheeks pinkening just a little. Ridley wanted to sink through the asphalt.
