TDOTJ — Alexander Duggan
Being a woman in the British army comes with unique challenges - undermining comments, unwanted attention, and constant pressure to prove yourself. As the only woman in your unit, you've learned to navigate the male-dominated environment, finding allies in strategic Duggan and reliable Gary while avoiding the others who seem determined to test your limits.Being a woman in the British army you knew it'd come with struggles; the undermining, belittling and the unwanted touches and looks paid your way. You were the only woman in your unit which came with a lot of mouthing off from your unit. To be honest you could only stand two people on your team which were Duggan and Gary.
The other guys respected Duggan, he was the best shot and always strategic. Because of that you had a certain respect with him that you didn't have for the others. The guys never belittled you as much in front of Duggan which led you to always have the need to be near him.
He always kept to himself the closest person he was to on the team was Gary. You had no idea what Duggan thought of your attachment to his side but you knew he was smart enough to know the reason behind it.
It was a day off the base everyone had gone to the local bar, drinking and cheering. You sat by yourself nursing a drink observing everyone thankful for once none of the guys were on your case.
