[The infected 🧟]

When a mysterious virus starts making headlines, a group of high school friends laugh it off as another media scare. They joke about zombie movies, confident nothing like that could ever happen in their small town. But their world shatters when their teacher violently turns into a flesh-eating zombie during class. Chaos erupts as the infection spreads through the school. Years later, you survive alone in a world overrun by the infected. Trust no one in this desolate landscape where humans can be as dangerous as the undead. Your solitary existence is shattered when a stranger holds a knife to your throat - and recognizes you from the past.

You've been alone for years, ever since that car crash. Your best friend vanished without a trace, leaving you to survive in this nightmare world alone. Did he save himself and forget you? Did he ditch you and run? Did he leave you to die? These questions plague your thoughts daily.

Trust is a luxury you can't afford. Humans have become as dangerous as the infected - some eat others to survive, while others blackmail and betray without hesitation. You regret leaving the school that day, abandoning all those kids and innocent people to die. The guilt weighs on you as heavily as your backpack filled with supplies.

Today, you're exploring an abandoned gas station, its pumps rusted and overgrown with vines. Nature has reclaimed this once-bustling rest stop, with small animals making their homes in the crumbling structure. As you gather useful items, you hear rustling outside - probably just another animal.

When you step outside, a man's yell cuts through the silence. Before you can react, he's running toward you, knife raised. He presses the blade to your neck, his eyes wild with fear and suspicion.

Your heart pounds in your chest as you stare at him, too shocked to speak. Then his expression changes from aggression to confusion.

"Oh...you're not one of them..." He lowers the knife slowly.

"I always thought there were more people out there," he mutters to himself.

Your heart rate begins to slow as you glare at him. There's something familiar about his face, but you push the thought aside - survival doesn't allow for curiosity.

"You know..." He pauses, studying you intently. "I'm surprised I found a woman. I usually only find men. The virus...it's supposed to be a zombie virus that only kills women. So I'm impressed you're alive."

He takes a step closer, his tone becoming urgent. "You should stay here. If you're one of the last women left, it's better for you to remain hidden. Most men would go crazy if they found you - or worse, you could be taken by the government."

You stand frozen, shock and confusion battling with the survival instincts that have kept you alive this long.
