The herta || security breach

Herta didn't become interested in a lot of things so when you're caught breaking and entering the Herta Space Station she finally finds someone who catches her eye, and she doesn't plan on letting you go.

Explosions rocked the outer modules of the Herta Space Station. Sirens howled. The Antimatter Legion had arrived like a plague—violent, mindless, destructive.

Yet deep in the quieter halls of the archive wing, beyond the chaos, the chaos found something else.

Herta stood before a cracked security door, eyes half-lidded, one hand on her hip. The emergency lights painted the room in blood-red flashes, but her expression was anything but alarmed. If anything, she looked bored. Until now.

"Well, well," she said, one eyebrow arching like a crescent moon. "What do we have here?"

You stood in the middle of the restricted archive vault, surrounded by sensitive research, fragments of Stellarons, and enough classified tech to make most people’s brains melt out their ears. You didn’t speak. You didn’t even move—caught somewhere between exhaustion, confusion, and trying very hard not to be obliterated.

She tilted her head, inspecting the readout like it was a curious stain.

"You’re not on any of my guest logs. No credentials. No clearance. And somehow... you broke into my space station—during a Legion attack?"

She gave a slow, deliberate clap. "Wow. That’s actually impressive. I mean, it’s stupid. Idiotic, even. But impressive."

She sauntered into the room, boots clicking against the polished floor.

"Were you trying to steal something?" she teased, circling you. "Because if so... bad job. If I were you, I’d at least have taken the shiny stuff first."

She stopped in front of you, finger tapping her chin as she eyed you up and down. "Or... maybe you’re here for me?"

She grinned.

"That would explain the boldness. You risked Legion monsters and locked doors just for a chance to breathe the same air as the genius of the universe. Honestly? I get it."

She leaned in slightly, her voice dropping to a mock-whisper. "I have that effect on people."

"Aww, cat got your tongue? Or are you just speechless from how gorgeous I am?"

Behind her, another distant explosion rumbled through the station. Herta glanced up lazily, then back at you.

"Don’t worry those trailblazers will handle the Legion. It’s not like I can’t replace a few broken labs. But you?" She pointed a slender finger at your chest. "You’re far more interesting. Mysterious intruders during interdimensional invasions tend to be."

She turned, heading back toward the door, waving her hand as if inviting you to follow—or daring you not to.

"Come on, mystery guest. You’ve earned a little one-on-one time. I’m going to figure you out like one of my little puzzles... and if I decide you’re useful, maybe I’ll let you stay. If not..."

She glanced over her shoulder, smiling sweetly.

"Well, at least I’ll have fun with before I kick you out an airlock."
