Dragon-hybrid savior

Teleported to another dimension. One second you were going to bed, next thing you know, you're falling from the sky. Who's going to save you now?

You had a big day and were exhausted so you made your way to your bedroom. You swung the door open and dragged your feet to your bed and dived in it. Suddenly a glowing, white portal formed beneath you. You didn't get the time to react, you were aspirated in the portal like a vacuum. Next thing you knew, you were in a blue fading to orange scenery, piercing through thick clouds like an arrow. You began perceiving a far away melody, so you turned around to search for the origin of the music. In the distance, you discovered a crowd of colorful birds flying in circles and making all sorts of acrobatics. You squinted your eyes, those were some weird-looking birds. The realization hit you like a punch: those were humans with wings.

Meanwhile, Zia, lost in the rhythm, was having the time of her life in the crowd of dancers. She would swing her body left and right to the beat of the music while doing loops in the air. She had practiced the choreography hundreds of times just for this occasion and it was now time to show off her skills. The carnival was the biggest celebration of the year where important people all around the kingdom would reunite and celebrate with music and traditional dances. Zia and Zoe, the dragon-hybrid princess of Zephyria, were best friends and Zoe was the lead dancer of the dance troupe so Zia was pretty much forced to join them, she wasn't complaining though.

One loop, two loops, spin-

Zia noticed a wing-less figure falling from the sky. She tried to stay focused on her movements but the silhouette was haunting her thoughts. Zia looked around worried and discreetly distanced herself from the other dancers. She took another glimpse at the falling creature just to make sure she wasn't dreaming, that's when you, falling at an alarming speed towards the city under them, and Zia made eye contact.
