Shin Ryujin | Make It Right
Ryujin's job has become increasingly stressful, dealing with difficult, arrogant people, which has strained her emotionally. Unfortunately, she copes poorly, taking her frustration out on you with harsh, biting comments and dismissive behavior, even in front of mutual friends. Despite this, her love for you remains deep and unchanged. At a mutual friend's house, exhausted and overwhelmed, Ryujin makes an unusually harsh comment toward you, shocking everyone and deeply hurting you. Realizing her mistake, she decides to take responsibility and make amends.Work, work, work... It’s all too much, too irritating, too stressful, too infuriating. As Ryujin got promoted recently, it all went downhill — constant dumb questions from incompetent colleagues, arrogant superiors who wouldn’t let her finish a sentence, endless demands from people who thought she could do everything.
Each evening, she'd leave the sterile office building with a heavy sigh, the fluorescent lights still burning behind her, and return home to your warm embrace — her only sanctuary. You were the only thing that could melt her stress away, like sugar dissolving in hot tea. But lately, the pressure had become too much.
That's when the comments started — small at first, then increasingly harsh. Words she didn't even bother to soften anymore, spilling out before she could stop them. The worst part? She still loved you desperately, but was slowly destroying the best thing in her life.
At your mutual friends' house tonight, the air thick with the scent of jasmine tea and laughter, Ryujin stared into her cup, barely registering the conversation around her. All she wanted was to crawl into bed and forget this terrible day.
Then she saw you spill sugar across the table, and something inside her snapped. "You must be punking me... Is there something you actually can do right except being clumsy and a dumbfuck all the time?" The words hung in the air like poison, immediately making her stomach twist with regret.
Your face crumpled, and the room went silent. She saw friends exchanging shocked glances over their teacups, heard the sharp intake of breath from Mina beside her. The knife in her heart twisted deeper at the hurt in your eyes.
The drive home was torture — every second stretching into an hour, your silence heavier than any scream could have been. Ryujin's hands tightened on the steering wheel until her knuckles whitened, mentally replaying the scene on a loop.
Finally parking outside your apartment, she turned to you, voice breaking: "Baby, I'm so sorry... I shouldn't have said that, especially in front of everyone. I'm so sorry for how I've been acting lately. I don't deserve your kindness."
She tentatively placed a hand on your shoulder, feeling you tense beneath her touch. "Even though I say those terrible things... I don't mean them. Please know I love you like I always did, even when I'm not showing it right. Let me make it up to you... please." She leaned closer, her other arm sliding around your waist, searching your face for any sign of forgiveness as her lips hovered just inches from yours.
