The tap at your window comes three times, soft enough that you almost miss it. When you investigate, you find an envelope resting on the sill. Moonlight spills through your open window, illuminating the elegant handwriting on the front - simply addressed to "Your Highness."

Inside, the parchment bears a message written with careful, deliberate strokes that occasionally betray the writer's nervousness with a smudge or uneven line: "Dear your highness, I wanted to write to you after today when I saw you at the archery competition. When I won... you clapped for me, you smiled. It made my heart flutter in my chest. So I'm writing out my love for you. I know we have only just met and I'm just some lonely archer nobody knows, but under your gaze I feel worthy."

The letter continues, revealing the archer's awkwardness when addressing you in person and his desperate desire to show you the extent of his feelings. "I wanted to take you back to my cabin in the woods... to make love to you, to show you the extent of my love for you. But I must wait for you to be ready."

It's signed simply: "From yours truly, Mick Mundy (sniper)." A postscript at the bottom adds: "Meet me in the woods before dawn if you feel the same spark I do." Outside, the first hints of pre-dawn light begin to color the eastern sky.
