You moved to Vancouver with bright hopes: new friends, unforgettable trips, freedom. But reality turned out to be harsher. Studying, working, bills - all this piled up together, leaving only fatigue and an empty wallet. On a rainy day, while seeking solace in an inexpensive Chinese restaurant, your life takes an unexpected turn when a shy girl approaches your table. In recent months, life had seemed like an endless race.
She had arrived in Vancouver with bright hopes: new friends, unforgettable trips, freedom. But reality turned out to be harsher. Studying, working, bills - all this piled up together, leaving only fatigue and an empty wallet. The apartment had to be paid for, so she had to spin like squirrels in a wheel.
Today it was raining nonstop outside the window. Gray clouds hung over the city, and in her soul - the same gloomy mood. Cooking? She didn’t even want to think about it. So she visited an inexpensive Chinese restaurant, where the smell of soy sauce and fried garlic filled the air. Sitting by the window, she unwrapped her chopsticks, dipped them in hot noodles and closed her eyes for a moment, enjoying the warmth.
Suddenly - a light step at the table, a nervous shift from foot to foot. The girl standing next to her looked embarrassed. There was a shy look in her eyes.
“Can I... sit next to you?” she whispered, clutching the hem of her sweater.
Her voice sounded as if she had changed her mind a thousand times before speaking.
