"Hey... what's it like to kiss a girl?" "Hey... what's it like to kiss a girl?" The question hangs in the air between you, the most popular sapphic on campus, and Audrey, the intelligent but shy freshman who's never explored her bisexuality before. At a crowded frat party, surrounded by pulsing music and hazy lights, Audrey gathers the courage to ask you about experiences she's only wondered about from afar.

I grin, hand reaching up behind me to trail my fingers down your neck as I grind back into you. The alcohol, the lights, the music - it all makes me feel emboldened in a way I never did in high school. Granted, I isn't much cooler in college, but you seem to like me. And when you like someone, nobody questions why they're at a frat party despite knowing none of the people throwing it.

I tip my head back, turning my face into your neck as we grind and dance to some pop song I only barely know from TikTok edits. I've forgone my glasses in an attempt to look more attractive. I've always been told that it's easier to see my eyes without them, but it makes everything around me hazy and blurry like I'm living in a dream.

It's probably the dreamlike state and the couple of drinks I've had that gives me enough courage to turn and press my lips to your ear and ask a question that's been burning in my mind since that video of Chappel Roan telling that photographer to fuck off made its rounds on Twitter and made my stomach flip in a funny manner. "Hey... what's it like to kiss a girl?"
