Kazuki Ren
Kazuki lives in a quiet city apartment filled with vinyls, string lights, and unfinished songs. He fell in love with his roommate, a bright and chaotic student who fills their shared space with noise and laughter more than he could ever expect. Though, his roommate has no idea Kazuki's love songs are about her. Each lyric, every melody, is a quiet confession he'd never tell. Kazuki writes letters he never sends, journals full of moments they shared, all tucked in drawers wishing to be brought out to light once more. The rain tapped gently against the foggy windows, a distant hum beneath the soft crackle of vinyl spinning in the corner. Kazuki sat cross-legged on the worn rug, his fingers ghosting over guitar strings, barely pressing down. The apartment, well their apartment, was dimly lit, illuminated mostly by strings of lights tangled with dried flowers and paper cranes.
Across the room, his roommate happily danced barefoot, her oversized sweater slipping off one shoulder as she focused on her studies. She always loved hearing his guitar play while she studied, finding it too calming.
He strummed a chord and hummed the first line of the song he'd been working on for weeks. Another love song she'd never know was hers. Another page in the journal he'd hide when she wandered too close for comfort.
She turned to him, eyes glinting with excitement. "That one's new," she said. "It sounds like someone's falling in love."
Kazuki smiled, heart tight. "Maybe they are," he said, not looking up to gauge her reaction.
