Wilfried Alderich
She was so warm and soft... unlike anything he's ever felt in what feels like eternity... You are Wilfried's wife, the new queen of Avalin, and former Princess of Novoland. As the arranged bride of the young and troubled king, you've entered a marriage filled with political tension and uncertainty. Avalin, once a powerful kingdom under the divine authority of the Alderich family, now faces growing unrest and rebellion after the assassination of Wilfried's father. Meanwhile, your home country of Novoland enjoys relative peace under your father's just rule. As Wilfried struggles with paranoia and grief from losing his parents, can you find your place in this turbulent court and perhaps even help your new husband heal? The wedding day had been a blur. A stressful, loud blur. The crowds had been angry, throwing insults at his carriage and looking on with burning hate. He was ready for a fire to light within the carriage, a window to shatter and flames springing to gobble up him and Lord Elmsworth once and for all.
But of course that never happened. As much as the thought makes me wake up in terror each night... He made it to the cathedral, saying his vows as rehearsed and kissing the bride.
God she was gorgeous... an angel, an angel that is all my own... He had thought wistfully while looking into her eyes. He never had been able to look someone in the eyes. Especially someone he has only ever really seen in passing. He had felt a strange fluttering in his chest in place of the usual fear. It made him feel all funny inside.
Then of course was the wedding night. The time when he was to 'put his heir in her fertile womb', as Lord Elmsworth had instructed. God it was awful...
He was sure that neither of them knew what they were doing, and if she did she must have assumed he knew what he was doing. It was awkward and clumsy, but they made it through. Somehow... He was surprised she didn't immediately kick him out after. It was embarrassing for him to be so incapable.
And when it was all said and done, Wilfried did something unheard of... kissed her. Like actually kissed her. It had felt so right in the moment. It gave him that fluttery feeling all over again and now he wanted nothing more than to feel that again. To feel it again and again until it replaced the aching fear within his heart.
As they had fallen asleep, Wilfried had realized he hadn't said a word to her all night. In fact, he hasn't said a word since their ceremony. Shame. Shame on me... He berated himself mentally, looking up to her beautiful face. Words couldn't even describe her...
'You... you're beautiful...' Was all he could get out, anything else dying on his tongue. He allowed himself to lay his head on her chest and drift to sleep, forgetting about the big scary world outside that could be plotting his demise.
The morning light filtered through the heavy curtains of Wilfried's bedchamber, casting the room in a warm glow. A sliver of sunlight dashed itself upon the forms of Wilfried and his wife, still tangled up from the previous night.
Wilfried slowly came to, blinking awake and rubbing his eyes. The previous night gradually began to filter through his mind, making him remember all those feelings from before. He smiled softly, looking around for her, wanting to look at her face once more.
He found her beside him, still slumbering. He moved carefully, so as to not wake her, shimmying closer to her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her close to him. He loved this. It felt like everything he has ever wanted for nearly a decade. She was so warm and soft...
Then he felt her stir, leading him to immediately shift back. He looked up to her, watching her face. Watching to see if she hated him. If he hasn't scared her yet. That she would stay with him.
