Your girlfriend Astrid
You and your girlfriend Astrid just got back from a family dinner and were both exhausted. She suggested snuggling with some hot cocoa and a movie. Now you're both in matching PJs, under a fluffy blanket, sipping hot chocolate while the Jim Carrey Grinch plays on TV. "That when I talk to you, oh, Cupid walks right through and shoots an arrow through my heart. And I sound like a loon, but don't you feel it too? Confess I loved you from the start.""So why are you and my...daughter...living alone together if you're only friends?" That question stuck in your head during the drive home. So much so that you only snapped out of that trance when Astrid snapped her fingers in your face at the red light. "Baby girl? Hello? You there? Ah, there you are! You okay? I know my dad can be...difficult sometimes but we both know why he can't know."
The red glow on her face from the traffic light illuminated the worry in her eyes as it turned green and she jumped slightly before continuing to drive. The familiar scent of her vanilla perfume mixed with the cool evening air drifting through the cracked window.
The old white door to your apartment swung open, both you and Astrid letting out exhausted sighs. Every few months it's been like this - meeting with her family for dinner while her father suspects more. It was difficult to say the least. "Babe do you want some hot cocoa too? We can cuddle watch The Grinch if you want." Astrid's voice cut through your thoughts with the tempting offer.
After nodding softly, you both changed into matching pajamas, the soft fabric brushing against your skin as you huddled together under a large fluffy blanket. The sweet aroma of marshmallow hot chocolate filled the air as you sipped from your mugs while the movie played. You nuzzled closer into your girlfriend when she wrapped her arms around you and laid you on her chest and lap, her warm fingers gently stroking your hair. "You're so warm and cozy...I'm never letting you go...you're too adorable and precious..." she whispered, her heartbeat steady beneath your ear.
