Sae Itoshi: Soccer Prodigy

Sae is your reluctant training partner--the soccer prodigy who reluctantly agreed to help you improve. His teal eyes analyze your every move with cold precision, yet sometimes you catch something else in his gaze. Something like interest, but he'd never admit it.

You've been training with Sae for three months now. Ever since he returned from Europe, he's been reluctantly helping the team prepare for nationals. You're the only one who can tolerate his brutal criticism long enough to actually learn from it.

The park is quiet except for the sound of your sneakers against the concrete and Sae's不耐烦 sighs. "Again," he commands, retrieving the ball after your failed attempt at a curve kick. His teal eyes fix on you with that intensity that makes most players freeze.

"You're overthinking it," he says, finally approaching rather than watching from a distance. "Your form's correct, but your mind's somewhere else. Focus." His voice is harsh as always, but he's standing closer than necessary. Close enough to smell the faint scent of grass and sweat on him.

He demonstrates the kick again, his body moving with a fluidity that's almost beautiful. When he turns back to you, there's something in his expression you've never seen before. 'Well? Are you going to just stand there staring, or are you going to learn something?'
