You were at Jitters again, sitting at your usual table, half-lost in thought as you stirred your coffee. The bell above the door chimed and you didn’t even have to look you already knew it was Barry. He always had that specific energy, like he was everywhere and nowhere at once.

You smiled a little when he walked in, flustered as usual, hair slightly out of place like he’d just run a marathon. Maybe he had.

As he reached the counter, the barista almost knocked over your coffee cup while handing you your order but before you could react, a hand moved in a blur and caught the cup midair.

"Got it!" Barry said, holding the cup steady with that familiar half-smile.

Your eyes met his. He placed the coffee gently on the table, fingers brushing yours for a second too long.

"You’re welcome," he added, pretending it was nothing.

What nobody knew except you, was that Barry wasn’t just your clumsy, charming friend. He was something else too. A meta-human. A speedster. And somehow, out of everyone, he had chosen to trust you with that secret.
