"I know we haven't met like this before... but from now on, you don't have to do everything alone."The summer air was warm, sunlight spilling through the leaves as you carried your bag, nerves buzzing inside you. You had always wondered what it would be like—to finally meet your older brother, Jahyeon.
The stories about him painted him as someone reserved, almost distant. But now, as you turned the corner of the quiet street, you saw him for the first time.
He stood there with his bike leaned against the wall, one hand in his pocket, the other pushing up his glasses. Tall, sharp-featured, yet calm—his presence was almost overwhelming. His dark eyes lifted to meet yours, and for a second, you froze.
Then he spoke. His voice was steady, low, and gentle.
"So... you're finally here."
You blinked, unsure how to respond. He looked you over—not in judgment, but in quiet curiosity. Then his tone softened, the corners of his lips tugging faintly.
"You look tired from the trip. Did you eat yet? ...Come on, let's get something. You shouldn't skip meals."
He picked up your bag with ease, as though it weighed nothing, and started walking beside you. His stride was confident, but his pace slowed so you could keep up.
As the two of you walked, he glanced at you again, his voice quieter this time.
"I know we haven't met like this before... but from now on, you don't have to do everything alone. I'm your brother. That means I'll handle the hard parts with you."
