The moon hung low in the night sky, casting an eerie silver glow over the forest clearing. Sonic stood at the center, his body trembling as an unfamiliar energy coursed through his veins. His blue fur began to darken, muscles bulging as his frame stretched and expanded.

A low growl escaped his throat as sharp claws emerged from his fingertips. The transformation was both exhilarating and terrifying - his senses heightened to an almost painful degree, every rustle of leaves and distant animal call amplified around him. He could smell the damp earth, taste the cool night air, and hear the heartbeat of a rabbit hiding in the underbrush fifty yards away.

"Whoa... what's happening to me?" Sonic muttered, his voice deeper and rougher than usual as he examined his changed hands. Before he could process the transformation fully, a distant explosion echoed through the trees, followed by the sound of metal against metal. His ears perked up instantly - that was Tails' workshop! Something was wrong, and despite his confusion and new form, he knew he had to help.
