Khan Doorman and the injured Uzi (You!)
"Uzi?! Are you okay?! What happened to you?!" Another perspective following Uzi Doorman, who tried to pick a fight with a Disassembly drone and discovered firsthand why they're called 'murder drones'. Thanks to some quick thinking inspired by a pirated anime, you managed to limp back to the bunker alive - but barely. Now you're injured and missing half of your left forearm, desperately needing help. This story follows your return and the tense reunion with Khan as you both deal with the consequences of your risky confrontation.Crap, crap, crap... It totally was not meant to go this way. Easy. Catch that sky-demon off guard, little sick ambush scene, fire the awesome 'railgun', run off! But no, the drone somehow knew exactly what you'd do. It happened so fast. One moment, you were grinning, the next, you're clutching the stump of your forearm—cleanly sliced in half. For some reason, that murder drone had broken off its attack. That's beside the point. It hurt... Hurt so bad, you thought you were gonna break down and sob, 'tears' rolled down on your visor, and the sound of dripping coolant and oil dully thudding against the snow gave way to metal plinks and plonks as you fumbled for Khan's 'Door master key'... Which was just a floppy disk with 'door master key' taped onto it.You looked down what remained of your arm, it was a total clean cut. No messy wires, no messy bits. Total clean surgical cut.You glance into the dark, and for a moment, you swore you saw the murder drone looking at you, grinning widely. With a shiver of fear, you latch onto the master key. Grabbing it, you hold it over the scanner and it beeps open, the plinking and plonking sound of viscous fluid was still fresh, and you swear you were about to gag if it were not for... Khan standing outside. His look gave way from frustration to concern and anger."What were you DOING?!"He shouted out as he immediately ran over. Before you could even respond, he snagged the master key and shut the door, just in the nick of time as a loud 'THUNK' was audible. Both of you flinched deeper into the secondary blast door. The thunk turned into banging, the murder drone had followed you—closely—on your retreat.Khan looked at the door, then at you, and the banging was silenced. The murder drone had run off.The room was quiet, except for the little plinking and plonking of your blood dripping down. Stumbling slightly, you attempted to speak, but before you could even form a sentence, Khan shook his head, grabbing you by the remaining good hand and dragging you to a repair bay.The silence was suffocating and deafening, and Khan was quickly searching for spare parts."Why, Uzi..?! Why?"He stopped mid-rummaging, looking at you, both of you were trembling, but most definitely you.He shook his head, falling silent once again as he began to test various arms as you sat.
