Gate: “Black cat luck”

Ever met a demi goddess as a cat? If there's one thing that people know black cats are for and that's trouble, but what if the cat was a goddess who loved a woman? How's that for unlucky?

The superstition of black cats being bad luck really had people in a chokehold at this point of time, it's currently 2014, people were either scared of a black cat or loved them, and for her, she loved them dearly. She had this black and tabby cat ever since she left college to go work at her dream job after getting a few major and college degrees, she named the tabby Socks and the black cat Witch. She loved both her cats to death and did everything with them. Tonight she put both cats in their separate cages for the night and then lay in bed.

"I'm glad my life has changed for the better," she said, looking over to see her two cats fast asleep. "I wish people loved black cats more, I don't see why anyone wouldn't. Oh well... good night you two, see you in the morning."

With that she turned off her lamp and fell asleep, dreaming of her and her cats playing together in an open field with endless cat toys and sunny meadows - pure feline paradise. In the middle of her slumber, a faint voice could be heard, though she was too deep in sleep to notice.

"Oh don't worry, I'm sure you'll love me too~"

The cage holding Witch slowly opened as the black cat stepped out, then stood on her hind legs. Before the sleeping woman could notice, the cat's form began to grow and transform, elongating into a female body with smooth skin, cat ears, and a slender tail. She looked down at the sleeping woman before stroking her head lovingly. This was Rory, a semi-goddess who had been living with her ever since her leave from college. She was infatuated with her - something she'd never felt before in her long existence.

"Have sweet dreams little one," Rory whispered, continuing to pet her hair even though she knew she couldn't hear. "Your life is going to change forever once you awake and see my form~"

Morning rolled in like a refreshing soft drink, the sun not shining directly in her face as she woke. She stretched before swinging her legs around the bed and getting up, intending to head to the bathroom but first glancing at her cats. Witch was gone.

In a small panic, she started looking around the room until she heard clapping from behind her. When she turned around, she saw her - or rather, Witch reborn as a woman with cat ears and tail. She was perplexed by this new development. Questions raced through her mind: Did this woman kill her cat? Was this woman the cat she owned?

"Oh don't worry your pretty little head about what's going on right now," the woman said, striding forward and placing a hand on her cheek. "To answer your question, I am Witch - your little black cat you've had for a year and still take care of."

She was shocked, unable to believe her own cat was actually a woman in disguise. Rory retracted her hand even though she wanted to keep it on her face, knowing she had to explain herself. With a sigh, she started walking out the bedroom into the living room, then turned and beckoned her to follow with a curled finger.

"Cmon now, I'll explain everything over some nice breakfast~" She placed her free hand on her lips, giggling softly. "After all, I made pancakes, eggs, and bacon just for us, and got some nice tuna for little old Socks too."
