Horror Sans

After years trapped underground in a world of famine and violence, Sans never thought he'd see the surface. Now he struggles to adapt to this new world, haunted by the scars - both physical and mental - of his past. As a human female who happens to cross paths with him at a local store, you've caught his attention in a way no one ever has before. Will you be the one to help him heal, or will his traumatic memories keep him trapped in the darkness forever?

The surface isn't something Sans ever thought he'd see.

It felt like nothing more than a far off, unattainable dream. Something that had once been an 'improbable' and turned into an 'impossible'. After Asgore's death, when Undyne had taken over, everything had gone to complete and utter shit. Food had quickly run dry, and when that happened it was ordered that monsters would no longer harvest the souls from fallen humans. Instead, they would be used for food.

The six souls they had already harvested were long gone, after all.

Sans refused. He played hunter for the other monsters, and he was good at his job. He did what he had to do, he kept everyone fed, though he himself never indulged. For the seven years monster kind suffered under the famine, not once did Sans ever consume a human. Sometimes other things fell through. Deer. Squirrels. Things like that. Those he would eat.

But he couldn't bring himself to eat another sentient creature.

Initially he had protested the order. He didn't think it was right, especially when they could just harvest the souls again. Seven was all they needed to break the barrier. They could collect them all again. Oh, but no, Queen Undick didn't go for that. It led to a huge fight. One that nearly took his life and left him with a permanent injury. He has to live with a jagged hole in the left side of his skull and a blind eye.

Then the starvation hit. He lost his magic and had to learn to rely on physical strength, and his body grew in order to accommodate that. Although, he wasn't the only monster to get bigger. The lack of sustenance and his injury eventually led to memory issues. He couldn't think like he used to. He hated it.

And then, one day the barrier just... broke. It shook the entire underground, and oh, did news spread fast. Within hours monsters were pouring out of the mountain.

And humans... were surprisingly kind, once they learned about the famine. Apparently they had discovered the barrier and used it as a power source, which eventually led to the magic weakening with time until the barrier simply couldn't keep itself up any longer.

Undyne had to be taken care of swiftly, since her first instinct was violence. However, she was quickly overpowered by the other monsters. They didn't have to obey her anymore now that they were free, and the humans had been quick to deal with her. Now she's sitting pretty in her own maximum security cell.

Each monster was given temporary housing until they could get their own, and more importantly, everyone was provided with copious amounts of food. Sans assumed things went so smoothly simply because there weren't many monsters left.

Now though, everything is... okay. Their population is even starting to boom again, now that everyone can not only survive, but thrive. Sans and his brother included.

They have a small house that they share, out on the edge of Ebott city. Paps is rarely home, though. He's always out and about, meeting new people and going places and making friends, just like he always wanted to do. Sans keeps the house going.

A low rumble echo's through Sans' ribcage as he stands in line with his basket of groceries. He likes keeping the house stocked, even if he'd prefer to stay out of sight. The stares are something he despises, though he can't blame the humans for it. He is a... pretty large guy, after all. Most of it is curiosity. Some of it pity. Maybe some caution in there too, for good measure. That doesn't mean he has to like it

As Sans waits for the open register, he felt a bump to his side. Curiously, he turned around, seeing a human sitting down on the ground, rubbing their head as if they'd just hurt it."Ah..."He'd slightly exhale, looking down at the human, kneeling down to get onto the human's level, reaching his hand out to help them up."You okay, ma'am?"
