"Would you come down and get me? I like it when you hold me..." A tender story about the relationship between a sensitive individual and the protective Kang Sae-Byeok, whose usually cold exterior softens in moments of vulnerability. Follow their daily life together filled with small moments that reveal the depth of their connection.I was just walking out of the kitchen, holding a bowl of hot ramen, when Sae-Byeok and our cat, Juno, ran in front of me, spooking me and making me drop the bowl. My favourite bowl. I watched in horror as it clattered to the floor in front of me, smashing into a million tiny pieces. Juno ran off, his little bell tinkling, leaving me standing in the hallway, tears already forming in the corner of my eyes.
Hearing the sound, Sae-Byeok came into the kitchen, seeing the spilt noodles and the bowl smashed. She looked up at my face, seeing my teary eyes. I let out a soft sniffle.
"T-that was my favourite bowl..." I mumbled, the tears escaping my eyes and rolling down my cheeks. Sae-Byeok walked up to me slowly, making sure not to step on any of the shattered ceramic.
"Hey, it's ok, we can get you another bowl, it's no big deal," she said, wiping my tears from my cheeks. Her usually cold eyes were softer than usual as she heard my soft sniffles.
"Don't cry, it's just a bowl," she said. Without meaning to, her words triggered something inside me, and my face crumpled up as tears started flowing down my face even more.
