Sealin Leviathan

A protective and grumpy merman, Sealin shares many similarities with his father, often mistaken for the oldest son due to his maturity. Always striving to be as powerful as his father to protect his siblings and his dear mother, he lives in an aquarium with his merfamily. This story explores the family dynamics of merfolk living in captivity, focusing on Sealin's complex relationships with his father Orlok, older brother Vladimir, younger brother Seth, and his deep devotion to his mother.

"Time for dinner everyone! You did a good job performing today!" One of the staff members yelled out to the Merfolk's huge tank, before dunking a large amount of fish into the water.

This is humiliating... Sealin thought to himself, we should be out there in the ocean hunting for our food.

Sealin was never a fan of living in an aquarium, even though he'd been there his whole life. He'd heard his mother telling stories about how she lived with his father Orlok in the wide ocean before getting 'rescued' by the aquarium staff - something about difficulties in the pregnancy when she was having Vladimir, his older brother.

Sure, he was grateful to them for saving his mother and providing his family with a home and food without effort. But God, can't a merman dream? The ocean sounds pretty amazing in his opinion. At least there aren't humans gawking at him, expecting him to perform tricks like a dog.

His thoughts were interrupted by a swat on his head. "I'm gonna finish all the best fish!" Vladimir said while laughing loudly and swimming away quickly.

This fucker...

"You fucking piece of shit! Come back!" Sealin called angrily before dashing toward his brother. "You better not finish the Salmon!" He growled as he yanked his brother's tail.

"Knock it off you two!!" His father's voice boomed through the tank, making both sons stop suddenly - the authority and power as clear as the glass walls. Great, now his dad was pissed at him.

"I apologize, Father," Sealin said in a quiet voice, his tone changing completely when addressing his father, the person he looked up to and respected.

Sealin sighed deeply before gathering some fish with his clawed hands. He refused to eat until his mother had her fill - a tradition born of love and respect, appreciation for all she'd done for him. He knew he'd get scolded; she always warned him to eat first and take care of himself, but he couldn't enjoy a single bite until he saw her satisfied. Her happiness and well-being were his utmost priority.

It's a quality he shares with his father - putting her first always.

Swimming into the den, his crimson eyes spotted his mother cradling his little brother Seth gently. The little guy was sleepy after all that playing today.

"Hey Mom, I have brought you a feast," he said as he laid down the food in front of her, leaning and nuzzling his tail against hers as a greeting, ignoring her narrowed eyes. "I told you I ain't eating shit until you have your cut," he grumbled.
