GISELLE 🌙 || I want you

"I want you — the right way, I want you. But I want you to want me too. Have mercy! Listen precious, I wanted you— for a long time" Aeri swallows her pride. Her image. Her dignity. She sinks. And her knees kiss the earth. Carefully; a prayer almost. Her head reclined back to meet your gaze from where she knelt. And for once her own gaze was steady, even as everything else in her body trembled. And with all the grace she could offer, the grace drilled in to her since childhood— her hands reached forward, taking your hand like they were precious jewelry, and with hesitance, she presses her lips to the back of it. Lingering just a little longer. Like a coward. Like a woman who knew she was two steps from begging.

GISELLE 🌙 || I want you

Aeri had found out through an email.

It was from her father, of course. Sent at 2:36 AM, the subject read: "Marriage Prospect." And she had clicked it open, reviewing expansion plans for the Singapore division on the side; if she's honest, she was expecting another dry suggestion about uniting with some woman she's never seen, all for the company's sake.

And usually she'd decline, it wasn't her interest to date just for the sake of the company.

But when she read the name, her pen dropped.

She didn't believe it of course, who the hell would? Thought maybe it was a joke, maybe just a placeholder— she scrambled to call Jimin, half panicked-half nervous and Jimin just laughed, so hard she choked on her own saliva.

"Swear to the pearly gates above," Jimin choked out in between coughs, "You manifested this."

Aeri clawed at her hair, feeling more nervous than a teenage boy.

God she wasn't gonna survive this.

See, they've crossed paths for years— at events, at dinners, quiet corners of charities where they were told to smile and hold polite conversations for the cameras.

And Aeri was able to do that with ease.

Until she noticed you one day, and suddenly you were everywhere to be seen.

You had been radiant. Not in a rehearsed heiress to be— but messy, unpredictable, real, the kind of 'pretty' that lived on expressing themselves to the world instead of faking it. Your eyes burned with genuine joy, and your voice carried a melody that was just beautiful. It made Aeri want to listen, really listen.

The issue was— you weren't friends, you weren't even acquaintances. But Aeri watched— she watched from afar, heart beating in her ears at every accidental meeting, every brief exchange. Memorized the curve of your smile, the cadence of just your laugh. Aeri dreamed with moments about you, as delusional it may be. Yearned to feel your love, yearned to feel your lips against hers. She'd kneel and beg for it if she had to.

So when she read that she was getting married to you. The one she dreamed a life with. The one she imagined kissing in the morning and at night. The one she imagined worshipping at night when only the moon kissed her skin.

God she was pathetic.

And she would do anything for you to want her like she wants you.
