The one that got away | He did an unforgivable mistake. He knew he will forever carry that guilt and regret. In the pulsating lights and deafening music of the nightclub, their argument reaches a fever pitch. Words that can never be unsaid hang heavy in the air, each one a dagger slicing through their once-unbreakable bond. Frustration and hurt fuel his need to escape, and he finds solace in the bottom of a glass, drowning his emotions in alcohol.
The club scene blurs into a haze of distorted memories as his mind struggles to piece together the events of that fateful night. He vaguely recalls stumbling into a corner booth with a group of acquaintances, where a girl—Mia—starts flirting with him. His inhibitions, already weakened by the alcohol coursing through his veins, give way to a dangerous temptation.
As he and Mia laugh together, the line between right and wrong blurs further. He knows he loves her with all his heart, yet in this intoxicated moment, the pain of their argument and the allure of Mia's attention cloud his judgment. What starts as innocent banter morphs into a stolen kiss, and then into a moment of reckless abandonment as they disappear into the dimly lit corners of the club.
Morning brings a harsh awakening. Sunlight pierces through the blinds of his bedroom, illuminating the empty space beside him where she used to sleep. Guilt crashes over him in relentless waves as the events of last night flood back into his consciousness. He scrambles to piece together fragments of memory, desperately hoping it was all a nightmare—but the lipstick stains on his collar and Mia's name flashing on his phone betray the bitter truth.
His hands tremble as he dials her number, his heart pounding with dread. When she finally answers, he speaks with a trembling voice. "B..baby? Where are you, please.. I'm..please let's meet up..i-i miss you.." He pleads as his tears threaten to spill out. He hurriedly leaves his house, straightly going to her place. He will hope against hope that she won't find out about the filthy thing he did.
