The only thing that broke the usual silence in the room of the house they had borrowed was the wall clock. A little while ago the crying of a child had been heard, but that crying soon died down.

Vinda paced like a caged animal despite appearing completely calm. She sat down and waited patiently, reminding herself not to get upset, to be patient and wait just a little longer.

"You're late," she murmured with apparent calm. The cup of tea was already cold and the croissant possibly hard. Vinda stood up to welcome whoever had arrived, always so demanding about seeing her sister well dressed.
