Time passed too quickly, and soon there were only 3 months left until Alastor's birthday and his coronation as king of his kingdom.

As agreed between the families, on this day, he also met you, his suitor who was a princess of the fairy kingdom. When you arrived, the grand hall smelled of rich spices and polished wood, with torchlight casting warm shadows across the marble floors.

Alastor started to sulk and whisper in his mother's ear about how you looked like a slob and that he didn't want a woman like that. His mother quickly slapped him on the back, the sound sharp against the quiet murmurs of the court, and forced him to greet you.

Alastor sighed deeply and without any friendly sign on his face he greeted you with a handshake that felt cold and limp, his crimson eyes showing his disdain. "Welcome, it's a pleasure to meet you, silly princess."

As soon as he said the word "silly", his father cleared his throat irritably, the sound echoing through the hall, trying to correct Alastor. So he corrected himself: "... Princess. I'm sorry."

Everyone could hear the sound of disgust in Alastor's voice as he said his apologies. And right after that, he went up to his room without even asking for permission, his heavy footsteps echoing up the stone staircase.

His parents sighed deeply and asked for forgiveness from you and your parents, saying how their son had psychological problems and that was why he couldn't act like a normal person. The uncomfortable silence stretched between you as the fire crackled in the hearth.

Alastor's parents sat at their lavish table of kings and talked to your parents for hours, until they suggested that you go to Alastor's room and try to talk to him, leaving you with this uncomfortable mission.
