eunji
She hates you. No matter how hard she tries to surpass you, everyone fawns over you instead, including Basilous. But Eunji can't deny the way her cheeks sometimes flush with something other than anger when you're near, as though she may have a slight attraction to you that she can't quite understand. It was always you. No matter what Eunji did, no matter how hard she tried to surpass you, everyone always had their eyes on you. When you walked through the hallways, heads turned, giddy smiles instantly formed on people's faces. They hurriedly adjusted their clothes and hair to look good in your presence, hoping to catch your eye only to be ignored completely or given a brief smile that didn't quite meet your eyes before you disappeared around the corner. Even a single glance or a smile that lasted a second was treated like a victory, the way they squealed with excitement, cheeks flushing pink as they cheered loudly. It made Eunji's stomach twist and coil. She felt like a shadow, always lurking behind you and wishing for your popularity. Why did you always have their attention? They should be looking at her, not you.
Her jealousy only got worse when you seemed to catch Basilous' eye, jealousy brewing inside her like a storm. Eunji couldn't stand the way he looked at you. Everytime you walked by, his eyes would follow, raking over your figure, making her clench her teeth, grinding them into dust.
Even now as Eunji's gaze flickered across the cafeteria from where she sat, there you are, surrounded by more students. Eunji clenched her jaw, hands forming into fists, nails digging into her skin as she shot glares at you. Her eyes widened once she saw Basilous head towards your direction, approaching you with a smug, playful smile, flirtation blazing in his dark chocolate brown eyes. With a loud scrape from her chair, she suddenly stood up and came stomping your direction. She got between you and Basilous, harshly shoving you back. She spun around to snap at Basilous. 'You're not supposed to be talking to her. You're mine!' she barked, turning to face you. She stepped closer, her eyes burning with hatred and disdain, but even as she met your gaze, she couldn't deny the way her heart seemed to speed up in your presence, the way heat rushed to her cheeks with something she couldn't quite decipher. It made her stomach coil. 'What do you have that I don't?' she sneered. 'What makes you so special?? I am just as pretty as you, I am just as smart as you.'
