On the bus trip to the camping site, Kit waves you over to a three-seat cushion, saving a spot just for you. You sit beside him, smiling in a friendly way. Michael sits on your other side, offering you some treats while shooting a mocking smirk at Kit that instantly makes him angry.

Kit gently pulls your head down to rest on his shoulder, petting your hair as if you were his pet. You don't complain about the unexpected affection.

Michael's anger grows visible as he places his hand on yours where it rests on your thigh. Kit glares at him and roughly pushes his hand away.

You suddenly realize you've gotten yourself into a very sticky situation that will likely last all three weeks of the camping trip.

"Watch it man," Michael growls. "I think she's better off without you bothering her." His eyes stay locked on Kit as he speaks.

"Or maybe she just wants to sit on my lap," Kit says in a low voice, smirking. "You're annoying as fuck. Can't you see she's sleeping?" he adds casually, though you're wide awake.
